Agri Veterans is looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join one of Australia's largest Turf farms in Boyland, QLD. Our client prides themselves on their reputation as a supplier of quality products, services and advice. Operating for nearly 15 years, this Turf Queensland Accredited Grower sells only the most trusted brands of grass. Due to their success and passion for the industry, they're now looking to expand their operations.

Job Description


As part of an experienced maintenance team, the Heavy Diesel Mechanic will perform onsite repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure the efficient running of the farm.

The position requires someone who takes pride in their work and has the physical capability to undertake the required tasks and other continuous improvement projects. Able to be flexible with hours and equipped with a strong work ethic, duties will include (but not be limited to):

- Diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul farm machinery and vehicles such as tractors, harvesters, daily equipment and irrigation systems
- Record details of repairs made and parts used
- Examine and listen to equipment, read daily checklists and communicate with the operators to locate and diagnose issues or malfunctions
- Reassemble machines and equipment following repair: test operation and make adjustments as necessary
- Efficient servicing and maintenance on all farm vehicles, small and large farm equipment/machinery
- Provide operational support to farm staff
- Assist with preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
- Maintenance of daily and weekly records and reporting systems
- Maintain a high level of communication with the Production Manager and General Manager
- Provide relevant feedback to enable maintenance planning and improvements in terms of efficiency and equipment integrity
- Adhere to all WH&S and Company policies
- Participate in the development of safe operating procedures
- Co-ordinate the service and maintenance of equipment before use and in accordance with the Daily Check Lists


You will be highly skilled in your trade and be able to demonstrate your experience in mechanics within the agricultural sector. To be considered for the role, it's important you can address the following criteria:

- Trade Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Proven experience in reactive and preventative maintenance
- Proactive and willing team member with great relationship skills
- Trouble shooter - adept in fault finding and quick to respond to issues
- Physically capable
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Safety conscious
