An Australian-first from Agri Labour Australia (ALA), Agri Veterans launched in late 2015 after ALA’s founders learned about a similar initiative in the USA – one developed to help veterans find meaningful careers and personal fulfilment in the field of agriculture.
Agri Veterans wants the same for Australia’s ex-defence staff. We strive to help veterans find stable, rewarding roles that match their existing skillsets, experience and temperament – knowing that many veterans have hugely transferrable skills that make them an asset to a variety of agricultural roles.
Our hope is to bridge the gap between Defence service and civilian realities, making it possible for veterans to find new meaning in their lives and careers while also safeguarding the future of our nation’s great farming tradition.
A new path to heal old wounds
Agri Veterans works closely with ex-Defence Force members who know how it feels to leave the life they know so well and start over.

When you need more than just a job
Like our veterans, some Agri Veterans staff are ex-Defence who have suffered PTSD and lost loved ones in the line of duty. They know all too well that re-adjusting to civilian life can be extremely challenging and are in a unique position to assist those affected.
We believe the agriculture industry has opportunities that complement Defence training, discipline and attitude. Many skills learned in Defence are transferrable to the field of agriculture.
