Who We Need
Agri Labour Australia is an award-winning Australian agricultural recruitment company with clients in every State and Territory. As a proud representative for many of the sector’s leading agribusiness, we take care of our employees in the same way we treat our clients and candidates - with respect and integrity.
Agri Labour Australia is currently taking Expressions of Interest for the Agri Veterans Coordinator role based in our dynamic and friendly office at Kelvin Grove.
The successful candidate will be responsible for placing former Australian Defence Force personnel into jobs within the agriculture industry and actively promoting the Agri Veterans Program. Effectively utilising the current contact database and existing networks, you’ll represent the Agri Veterans Program by attending promotional events and identifying potential new initiatives.
Strategically aligning and building key relationships with other Defence organisations, you’ll be proactive in sourcing and advising on support networks for ex-Defence members and investigate wage assistance and relevant subsidies available to employers who hire ex-Defence staff.
Driven to connecting the right person with the right job, you will assist in the interview and selection process of ex-Defence members for various positions. Providing updates to the team, you will be required to complete reference checks and phone screening for candidates to assess their skills and alignment to roles.
This position also sees you undertaking research to assess the Agri Veterans Program’s competition and making recommendations based on these competitors. Your duties will include but not be limited to:
• Talent sourcing
• Accurate database management
• Candidate reference checks
• Candidate screening
• Interviewing candidates in person and remotely
• Job board searches
• Team updates
• Post Placement Support
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Our ideal candidate is an ex-Defence member who has a recruitment or sales background or proven experience in succeeding in their previous role.
Our business is busy! You’ll show us how you’re able to work to tight deadlines and have excellent time management and multi-tasking capabilities. You will have a strong understanding of the unique challenges that come with working in highly diverse and multicultural teams, ranging from blue collar to executive.
Confident and capable, as Agri Veterans Coordinator you must be self-motivated and keen to keep learning and developing with the role and the business. You must be organised and outgoing - a ‘people person’, with first class customer service skills and exceptional at maintaining effective relationships.
As an employer, we pride ourselves on our positive corporate culture and encourage applications from ex-Defence candidates. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are looking for a rewarding role with a company that values every employee.
