Agri Veterans is seeking a Cotton Gin Assistant for a client, one of the world's largest suppliers of cotton who have developed a reputation for providing the highest quality premium produce to Australian and international markets. With 10 state-of-the-art cotton gins throughout Queensland and New South Wales, the business places a strong emphasis on long-term and sustainable growth. The industry leader is now seeking a Cotton Gin Assistant to join their team.

Job Description

The role of a Cotton Gin Assistant involves processing seed cotton from growers into baled lint. Daily tasks and responsibilities will include the operation, maintenance and repairs of gin machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude and be skilled in maintaining, repairing, and operating plant, equipment, and machinery. It is vital that you possess a high attention to detail with a focus on product quality and safety.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

- Operate a variety of gin equipment and machinery via the control room
- Repair, rebuild and replace machinery components and machinery including belts, chains, sprockets, filters and hydraulic hoses
- Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance and repairs on plant and machinery
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed and compile maintenance reports when requested
- Ensure principles of safety, health and environment are adhered to and all staff are using correct safety procedures
- Ensure production capacity and quality is maximised on an ongoing and consistent basis
