We are pleased to be representing our client in their search for a Farm Hand to assist with their hemp growing activities based in Gatton SE, Qld.
An entry level role but one that won’t stay that way for long, this is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for horticulture who is looking to begin a new chapter of their career. Working in sector that’s marked for huge expansion, the role sees you learning and implementing appropriate strategies and methods to ensure maximum crop production, while working with your manager to identify and source the best products and practices to support optimal growth.
Supporting activities for all pre planting agronomy through to harvest, you will assist with soil testing, result interpretation and dissemination of advice to determine and implement the appropriate chemicals, fertilisers and application techniques for the crops.
As directed by the management team, you will also undertake sampling and interpretation of soil moisture and plant nutrition levels while also checking and appropriately managing pests, disease and other issues.
The right candidate will see the role progress into leadership, managing a small team and also be given a twelve month review salary review. Hands on and with an interesting range of activities to keep you busy, your duties include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Cannabis crop production quality
- Effective and timely management of crops
- Implement pest, disease and fertilisation programs
- Crop harvesting processes
- Manage and operate farm resources and equipment
- Strong commitment to industry compliance and WHS
- Actively promote a safe and productive company culture
